Our Story

We started Growing Green with a simple question:

Why isn’t environmental education starting in early childhood?"

While sustainability and environmental literacy are often introduced in K–12 classrooms, early childhood education (ECE) is rarely included in the conversation. We saw a need, and we knew it couldn’t wait.

Children are born curious. Even babies begin to connect with the world through their senses. Through nature-based learning, young children can build meaningful relationships with the earth from the very start. Watching leaves blow in the wind, listening to birdsong, touching soil, these small moments are where a love for nature begins.

And we believe this truth deeply:

​Growing Green was created to fill the gap, providing educators, caregivers, and families with the tools and confidence to teach sustainability from the ground up. Our work is rooted in play, wonder, inclusion, and the belief that even the youngest learners can be part of building a better, more just, and sustainable world.
